Knit-Picks and Feedback

I just wanted to give a little feedback about my experience in the third beta. Though I am only level twenty or so, what I have collected so far are just some simple things I guess. The game itself seems already fairly complete so that pleases me as I have followed its progress from Korea to China, and then, to the States. Needless to say, when NCSoft announced that they were bringing it overseas, I was pretty stoked!

I had played a good deal of it in Chinese but stopped around level 15 or so just because the language barrier was a bit rough and I just couldn't seem to get enough Ping even with some boosters but that's because I practically live on the opposite side of the world.

Anyway, the first thing I have is the game client. I am not sure if anyone else has this problem but typically, when I log in and go to play, it verifies repair files and sometimes stalls in the download.

It gets stuck at 1% at like 85kb so I never see the progress bar. Sometimes I have to restart but other times, the game opens instantaneously. I know my internet service is not a factor as I affirm the connection every time it stalls, so it's just something to note I guess, and not too big of a deal.

The next thing has to do with the skin and hair color options. I feel like the palettes are just a bit bland but I suppose I am typically spoiled with the option of color sliders rather than general hue slots. Otherwise, the character creation is phenomenal. I find it to be one of my favorite things to do when I look into a good game like Blade and Soul. Graphics and play style are a big thing for me so when it comes down to customization, I can sit there for an hour trying to achieve my own personal smexeh beast~ ;p

The voice options for the characters are also something I have to touch on. To be honest, some of them sound terrible~ Nasally, maybe a little sick... Just like some of the in-game voice overs. I flipped through all the options and I did find some brawny, gruff, and youthful voices (suited for tiny creatures) but nothing really that seemed to suit the Jin race, if that makes sense? -Poise of the Sage- is the only thing I use just because it is the only one that I like for such an 'ageless' race but... maybe that might be me being a bit too picky.

Anyhow, as far as classes go, I do like the variety that is available but I found myself yearning for one or two more options at least. I was kind of hoping for a Necromantic class or maybe something like a Scrollmaster that can provide buffs or minor health restoration because the difficulty in the game is awesome. I like that potions are scarce because it avoids instant gratification. It makes you think on your feet. Combined with combos, the immersion is pretty fantastic. Thus, there is no satisfaction in a game that hands you what you need and I value that.

*On a side note, I tried every class and I found that the Summoner did lack in summon options. I would have liked to have seen pandas, red pandas, squirrels, rabbits, or some such to compliment the theme of the story; rather than just cats. I think even a spirit-like creature would be great, as well. Sort of like those lamp creatures in the Dreamrift.

The final thing I did notice was a rather lacking weapon variety for each class in general. It feels almost as if it was designed to give you every weapon BESIDES what you needed, and even them, everything seemed to look the same. Though the focus really shouldn't be on the weapons as the enhancement system is great, it is just food for thought, I guess. Though invariably, I haven't really gotten into the weapons inner workings just yet so this bit might just be because I haven't explored everything yet.

Is there some kind of SIMPLE blade and soul guide for all this stuff?

What you really need are the dumplings, hp potions, charms, repair tools, keys and maybe the upgrade stones (for later when weapons need a lot more, they still give the same %) and that's about it. For everything else you should decide whether you want to sell it or keep it.

Final Blade & Soul Closed Beta with CyberPowerPC - Biggest Pet Peeves

The time left to play Blade & Soul during the closed testing period is rapidly closing. Since I won't be able to make it for the final CBT due to x-mas plans, (was in all the previous ones) I figured I'd just take the time to write down my biggest pet peeves:
